CHANDIGARH: The first session of the newly elected Haryana assembly will commence on November 3, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said today.

Khattar, at his maiden press conference after presiding over the first meeting of his Cabinet, said that the Cabinet has authorised him to approve the presenting of any legislative business before the assembly.

The chief minister said he had also been authorised to approve the Governor's Address to be delivered on November 4.

Khattar and nine-members of his Council of Ministers were yesterday administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki at a function held at Panchkula near here.

The BJP for the first time in Haryana's history formed the government on its own after elections to the 90-member assembly were held recently, in which the party registered win in 47 seats.
