Haryana announces bonanza for nursing staff
Haryana Finance Minister, Birender Singh has announced a bonanza of Rs 1.51 crore for the Nursing Staff of Health Department, which included increase in stipend, washing and uniform allowances and special increment for higher education.

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Finance Minister, Birender Singh has announced a bonanza of Rs 1.51 crore for the Nursing Staff of Health Department, which included increase in stipend, washing and uniform allowances and special increment for higher education.
Stating this here today, Singh said that the washing and uniform allowances of the nursing staff had been increased from Rs 100 to 350 per month, which would cost additional burden of Rs 68 lakh annually on the government exchequer.
He said that Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had earlier announced to provide bonanza to the nursing staff of Health Department and keeping in view this commitment had been fulfilled by the government.
Singh ssaid that the stipend for B.Sc nursing students had been increased from Rs 500 to 750 per month, which would cost an additional burden of Rs 81.69 lakh per annum on the exchequer.
The special increment would also be given for the higher education to those nurses, who would pass B.Sc nursing.
They would be given on additional increment. Similarly, two additional increments would be given to M.Sc nursing and it would cost a sum of Rs 2.47 lakh per annum.
The Finance Minister said that the state government was committed to provide best research facilities i n the State in health sector and with this purpose Haryana Government had sanctioned a number of posts for the Pt.B.D. Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak so that it could be made a Centre of Excellence.
