The swearing-in ceremony, held at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar, was attended by Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and BJP National President and Union Minister JP Nadda.
Along with Sanghvi and Jadeja, several prominent names took oath as ministers, including Swaroopji Thakor, Pravenkumar Mali, Rushikesh Patel, Darshna Waghela, Kunvarji Bavaliya, Parshottam Solanki, Jitendra Waghani, Praful Pansheriya, Arjun Modhwadia, and Kanubhai Desai.
This marks the first major cabinet rejig since Bhupendra Patel’s second term as Chief Minister began.
The move is seen as a message to other BJP-ruled states and to the Centre, where the party is preparing for organisational changes, including the appointment of a new president and a reshuffle in the Union government.
The reshuffle followed a meeting in Delhi where BJP president JP Nadda, Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union Water Resources Minister CR Patil finalised the decisions. It also comes after the appointment of state BJP president Jagdish Vishwakarma, who is expected to step down from his ministerial post to concentrate on party responsibilities.
The cabinet overhaul comes ahead of the panchayat elections early next year and the assembly polls in 2027.
