Halim remanded to 14 days police custody

SIMI activist Abdul Halim who was arrested in connection with the serial bomb blasts of the city was remanded to 14 days police custody by a local court in Ahmedabad.

AHMEDABAD: SIMI activist Abdul Halim who was arrested on Sunday in connection with the serial bomb blasts of the city was on Monday remanded to 14 days police custody by a local court here.

Metropolitan Magistrate G M Patel remanded Halim on an application by the city crime branch.

The crime branch has also shown him wanted in a 2002 case to obtain his remand. The crime branch has said that he has been working to recruit people and instigate people for Jehadi activities.

Halim was the first person to be arrested in connection with the 16 serial blasts that killed 49 people and injured more than 145.
