Guwahati central jail declared containment zones

Following detection of a COVID-19 positive patient in Guwahati Central Jail, the area is declared as containment zone.

Deputy Commissioner and chairman of district disaster management authority, Biswajit Pegu ordered, “In view of detection of COVID-19 positive patient at Central jail, in Guwahati City of Kamrup metropolitan district, in the interest of maintenance of public hygiene and to prevent further spread of COVID-19 in the said area, the Central jail area is declared as containment zone.”

Assam has 2153 positive cases.
