Gurdaspur terror attack: Parkash Singh Badal to visit families of those killed
CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal will tomorrow visit the families of the seven persons killed in the terrorist attack in Gurdaspur.

Badal will visit the Kapurthala residence of Gurdaspur superintendent of police (detective) Baljit Singh to share his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister's Office said here today.

The chief minister will also visit the families of three Punjab Home Guards Des Raj, Bodh Raj and Sukhdev Singh, who "attained martyrdom while displaying unparalleled valour, commitment and patriotism during the call of their duty".

He will also meet the bereaved families of three civilians killed in the terrorist strike -- Amarjeet Singh, Nirmala Devi and Ghulam Rasul -- in Dina Nagar.

The spokesperson said the Chief Minister, despite his ill health, closely monitored the entire operation and even visited the injured at Guru Nanak Hospital in Amritsar soon after they were referred to the facility.

Meanwhile, Badal cancelled all his scheduled engagements and meetings today to take rest on the advice of doctors attending to him, as he was still down with fever.
