Guntur division neglected in Railway budget
Congress MP, R Sambasiva Rao has alleged that Bihar and Tamil Nadu, native states of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and his deputy Velu got the lion share of the benefit in 2008-09 Railway Budget.
After inaugurating the sleeper class passenger waiting hall in the Guntur railway station premises here today, Sambasiva Rao said Guntur division received a raw deal in the budget.
"I apologise to the people of my constituency for my failure," he said.
Rao pleaded for doubling the 26 km Guntur-Tenali stretch which is the stumbling block for diverting some Chennai-Delhi-Howrah express trains via Guntur.
