Gujjar row: Pilot, Bhadana arrives at Sikandra

Under pressure from agitating Gujjars, Congress MPs Sachin Pilot and Awatar Singh Bhadana on Saturday arrived at Sikandra town.

DAUSA: Under pressure from agitating Gujjars, Congress MPs Sachin Pilot and Awatar Singh Bhadana on Saturday arrived at Sikandra town where bodies of 20 protesters are kept since early this week for cremation and met the bereaved family members of the victims.

The Gujjars have been demanding Pilot and Bhadana should visit the town.

Pilot and Bhadana met the bereaved members of the families amid high security, police said.

Both the MPs sought prior written permission of the Dausa collector and Superintendent of Police, Pilot's PA told PTI over telephone.

He said the two MPs were asked to reach Dausa/Sikandra via Jaipur, not via Bandikui by the district administration.

Pilot, Congress MP from Rajasthan, has told mediapersons earlier, that he wanted a respectable and dignified cremation for the victims of May 24 clash.

However, he had said he would extend his support to the issue if it was in the interest of the country and the community.
