Gujjar faction trashes quota

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Joint Gujjar Reservation Action Committee on Sunday rejected the BJP government's 5 per cent quota to Gujjars and has announced a mahapanchayat at Dausa on September 7.

Holding a review meeting at Sanganer town, 20 km from here, the rival Gujjar faction led by rebel BJP MLAs Prahlad Gunjal and Atar Singh Bhadana asked the audience to defeat the Raje government in the coming Assembly polls.

A 51-member committee headed by Chaudhary Masood has been set up to frame the future course of action and agitation, Gunjal, who joined the BSP early this year, said.
