Gujjar agitation called off: Bainsla

A 36-member Gujjar team was in talks in Jaipur with the state government even as the community continued to block rail tracks for the 17th day demanding job quotas.

JAIPUR: An agreement has been reached during talks between the agitating Gujjar community and the Rajasthan government over the community’s demand for 5% reservation in government jobs, Gujjar sources said on Wednesday. Community leader Kirori Singh Bainsla said after the meeting with the Rajasthan government that Gujjar agitation has been called off.

A 36-member Gujjar team was in talks in Jaipur with the state government even as the community continued to block rail tracks for the 17th day demanding job quotas. The delegation, led by retired army colonel KS Bainsla, started negotiations with a three-member ministerial committee in a bid to end a dragging row.
