AHMEDABAD: Long time Congress loyalist and heavyweight politician from Gujarat Narhari Amin was "trending" on social media platform Twitter on Friday evening.

No sooner than the former deputy chief minister jumped over to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday after denied ticket by his party, netizens began tweeting about him. Gujarat goes to polls in two phases in December.

"Another nail in the coffin of Congress," wrote Sunil Shibad reacting to Amin's move, while another tweeple SimplySud shot back saying: "Do you now suddenly advocate Modi? When did this happen? Oh right, ideals do not matter, ticket does."

Amin was the past president of the Gujarat Cricket Association and former vice-president of BCCI (Board of Cricket Control of India).
