Industry-friendly policies of the Gujarat govt and the infrastructure in the state were attracting German companies here, said Dr Leopold-Theodor Heldman, German Consul General, today.

He attended commissioning of production plants of Lanxess, a Germany-headquartered company, at Jhagadia, 100 km from here.

He also said that he was impressed by the quality of life in Gujarat.

"Germany has had 60 years of friendship with India and both the countries have shared ideas and business interests... India has become a major pillar of our BRICS strategy and one of our fastest-growing markets," he added.
