Gujarat IPS association has passed a resolution supporting suspended IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt, who has been put behind bars after a constable filed a complaint against him.

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat IPS association has passed a resolution supporting suspended IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt, who has been put behind bars after a constable filed a complaint against him.

Three IPS officers, including Atul Karwal and V M Parghi, later went to Bhatt's residence to convey the resolution passed by the association to his family members, members present in the meeting said.

"Three IPS officers came to our house and told us that the association will back Bhatt in his fight for truth," Bhatt's wife Shweta said.

The bail plea of Bhatt, who had spoken against Chief Minister Narendra Modi in a affidavit in the Supreme Court accusing him of complicity in 2002 riots, will be heard tomorrow.
