New godowns will have scientifically created storage capacity to meet various requirements of the farmers for storing farm produce, said Chhatrasinh.

VADODARA: Gujarat government will spend Rs 125 crores for constructing 83 godowns in various parts of the state.

A sum of about Rs 1.5 crore will be spent on constructing each new godown in place of the existing ones, which are in bad condition and difficult to be repaired, in various parts of the state, Gujarat Minister of State for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Chhatrasinh P Mori told PTI.

The new godowns will have scientifically created storage capacity to meet various requirements of the farmers for storing farm produce, he said.

The state government has also decided to facilitate ration card holders to purchase 1 kg each of edible oil and sugar through fair price shops, under public distribution system, on the occasion of Diwali festival, he added.
