Gujarat Congress promises jobs to 10 lakh educated youth, 1 lakh in government
Congress on Monday promised one lakh jobs in government sector and increasing the age threshold to 35 years.

Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committe president Arjun Modhwadia, leader of the opposition in assembly Shaktisinh Gohil and chairman of the campaign committee Shankersinh Vaghela briefed the media persons in the city while announcing the sops.
Other highlights of the latest package include appointment of 2.50 lakh educated unemployed young boys and girls as Apprentice Trainees under Apprenticeship Act with stipend, Strict enforcement of Apprenticeship Act, five lakh youth to be trained through Skill Development Centers for creating world-class manpower, 100 new I.T.I. to be started in the State with new trades-Constitution of " Gujarat Handicraft Academy" for training to the artisans, Vishwakarma samaj, for tannery work, weaving and knitting and making available avenues for national-international markets for youth of traditional artisans by adding value addition and introducing modernization in their trades.
It has also announced a scheme for allotment of land in GIDC, loans and subsidies for self-employment of professionally and technically educated youth and another one to for technical and financial assistance for educated young boys and girls of agriculturist family for value addition in agricultural produces and to set up processing units.
