VADODARA: Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today denied the allegation that her government was taking away farmers' lands for the sake of corporates.

Speaking after inaugurating Sardar Patel Market Bhuvan built at a cost of Rs 8 crore in Karjan town, 60 km from here, Patel said, "The farmers agree to sell their lands to the industrialists only after getting a good price and a good deal."

She also said that as the foreign firms were setting up factories in the state, it would be very necessary for the youth to learn mechanical and industrial skills alongwith the formal education.

For this the Gujarat government had set up several skill development centres and ITIs, she added, appealing the youth to take advantage of these training centres.

The Chief Minister on this occasion also appealed to the men in the state to gift the insurance policy under Prime Minister's Bima Suraksha Yojna to their sisters on the coming festival of Raksha-bandhan.
