Gujarat CM Anandi Patel asks MLAs to adopt a village each
AHMEDABAD: In sync with ' Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna' launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently, Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel asked legislators to adopt one village each in their respective constituency and make it into an 'Adarsh Gram' (ideal village).

Addressing a gathering at the Tana-Riri Music festival at Vadnagar in Mehsana district yesterday, Patel said that the MLAs will spend from the MLA fund for development of these villages.

Patel urged the representatives to focus on developing infrastructure and basic amenities, such as toilets for these villages, an official statement said today.

The state government is also planning to implement the scheme for representatives of all local bodies like district panchayats and taluka panchayats, it said.

The Chief Minister presented the 'Tana-Riri Award-2014' to noted singer Prabha Aatre on the occasion.
