New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Gujarat is observing the last week of April as Swagat week to celebrate 20 years of State Wide Attention on Grievances by Application of Technology (Swagat) -- an initiative launched by the then chief minister Narendra Modi on April 24, 2003, to promote ease of living and to resolve issues faced by citizens.

As part of the celebrations, the sarpanches of village panchayats, talatis, newly-appointed mamlatdars and taluka development officers were trained by the chief minister's office. On April 27, the final day of the celebrations, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will hold an online Swagat which will be attended by Narendra Modi virtually.

Over the last two decades, Swagat has resolved the issues of thousands of Gujarat citizens and has won accolades at the national and international levels, including the United Nation's Public Service Award in 2010.
