Gujarat BJP's 'Kisan Yatra' from tomorrow

RAJKOT: Gujarat BJP has decided to take out a " Kisan Yatra" from tomorrow to create awareness among farmers about new agriculture research and to highlight UPA government's anti-farmer policy.

"The yatra will commence from Rajkot marketing yard tomorrow evening and would be flagged off by Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi," R C Faldu, BJP state unit president, who will lead the yatra, said here today.

"The 12-day-long yatra would cover around 2,000 km in the Saurashtra region," Faldu said adding that a special chariot has been made for the yatra.

The objective of the yatra is to create awareness among farmers about new research in agriculture sector and to educate them about adopting scientific ways to improve quality and quantity of agriculture products, Faldu said.

Besides, the yatra will also highlight UPA government's anti-farmer policies, he added.
