Gujarat Assembly budget session to start from Feb 24

AHMEDABAD: The budget session of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly will begin from February 24.

Gujarat Governor Dr Kamla, exercising the power conferred to her by clause (1) of article 174 of the constitution, has ordered to convene state assembly from January 24, a release from the state Assembly said.

State Finance Minister Vajubhai Vala will present the budget on February 25, sources in the assembly said.

After the death of Speaker Ashok Bhatt, acting speaker Mangaldas Patel will run the proceedings. Elections for the new Speaker is also likely to take place, sources said.

The session will continue till March 30.
