GRSE aims at Rs 1700 turnover in next fiscal

GRSE Rear Admiral A K Verma said the ongoing Rs 600 crore modernisation of GSRE's main unit was near completion.

KOLKATA: The GRSE, a defence PSU and the only one to export warships, is aiming at a turnover of Rs 1700 crore in the next fiscal with a steady annual growth of 15-20 per cent.

"We are growing at a healthy rate of 15-20 per cent every year. In the next fiscal we are aiming at a turnover of 1700-1750 crore, " Chairman and managing director of GRSE Rear Admiral A K Verma said today.

Verma also said that GRSE was the first shipyard with an export order for an off shore patrol vessel for the Mauritius government, which would be delivered by next year.

"GRSE is the only shipyard in the country with an export order for warships. We will be delivering an offshore patrol vessel to Mauritius by next year," Verma said.

He said the GRSE was looking to more export orders in the days to come.

"Recently I have been to Brazil and many Latin American countries have shown interest in warships built by GRSE. Even far east countries, African and Gulf countries are talking to us. Let us see how it goes," Verma said.
