Growing peace constituency in Pakistan good for us: Salman Khurshid
External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said there have been indications that the election could throw up a coalition government in Pakistan.

External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said there have been indications that the election could throw up a coalition government in Pakistan but it would be too early to speculate on its nature.
"It is very difficult to judge what exactly will be the outcome. We have some sense that people are giving us that there could be perhaps a coalition situation but that seems to be happening in many parts of the world including our country," he told reporters here when asked about the next month's national elections in Pakistan.
"But what kind of coalition, the contours of the coalition and the nature of the coalition, I think it is a little bit early. Nobody is absolutely certain what might happen. But let's wait and see what happens," he said.
General election is scheduled to be held in Pakistan on May 11 and a caretaker government under Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso was sworn in last month.
The previous government was the first in Pakistan's 66-year history to complete a five-year term.
Khurshid said there was a growing peace constituency in Pakistan which was good not only for that country but also for India.
"We do believe that there is a growing peace constituency in Pakistan. We think that could be a good thing not just for us but also for Pakistan.
"If the elections reflects the growing peace constituency and the content of peace determination to work towards peace and this is reflected in the election results it would be a welcome thing," Khurshid said.
