MUMBAI: Naval officer M L Jerome Mathew, accused in the sensational Neeraj Grover killing case along with his Kannada film actress fiancee, was simultaneoulsy going around with another girl six months prior to the murder, a top crime branch official said today.
"Mathew was seeing a childhood friend based in Bangalore and Kannada film actress Marrayya Monica Susayraj simultaneously for six months till the latter got to know of it and confronted him," he said.
Mathew stopped going around with the Bangalore-based girl after being confronted and had his loyalties only towards Susayraj as on May 7 when Grover was killed as a fallout of a "love triangle".
Grover (25), a creative head with the TV production house Synergy Adlabs, was allegedly a serial womaniser and Susayraj got to know of his antics only after the murder, the officer added.
Susayraj had in February this year applied for a role in a serial produced by Grover's then employer and had gained proximity to him in the hope of landing a role.
Police had earlier said that Susayraj and Grover had sex before the latter was killed.
Mathew was unhappy with this proximity and is alleged to have killed Grover in a fit of rage after finding him naked inside Susayraj's bedroom.
The body was then chopped into several pieces by the couple before heading to neighbouring Thane district's Manor where it was disposed-off by burning.
Both Susayraj as well as Mathew are in police custody.
