Green issues not hurting country’s progress: Jayanthi Natarajan

NEW DELHI: Environment minister Jayanthi Natarajan said the country’s progress is not being held up by environmental issues and goals of sustainable development.

“Nothing is further from the truth. But let me tell you that unless we are very conscious that our natural resources are finite, and that the decisions we have to make are difficult and tough.

That is why we have rules and regulations, by which to make these choices,” the minister said in her keynote address at the fourth JSW-Times of India Earth Care Awards.
