Sriramulu Srinivas was arrested by the police in Medak district on August 21, 2007. He is one of the accused in the murder case of former home minister A Madhav Reddy.
He was shifted to Malkangiri in Orissa following a production warrant issued by the lower court as he was wanted in two cases in Malkangiri.
Recently he filed a bail petition before the additional metropolitan sessions judge of Cyberabad and was granted bail on January 6, 2011.
The government preferred an appeal against the bail contending that the accused is a hardcore Naxalite and there was a possibility of him going underground on obtaining bail.
It can be mentioned here that the state's application to cancel his bail has got nothing to do with the current developments in Orissa, a legal source said.
The application was filed in regular course and that it happened so that it was listed for hearing today, the source said.
Justice B Seshasayana Reddy dismissed the appeal saying that the lower court passed a reasonable order in granting bail to the accused by imposing conditions to secure his presence for the trial of the case.
