Union minister JP Nadda welcomed CJP's decision to cancel their September 5 protest
New Delhi: The Centre on Tuesday welcomed CJP's decision to call off their September 5 protest.

"On July 25, 2026, Jitendra Singh, my colleague in the central government, and I held talks with representatives of the students involved in the protest at Jantar Mantar. Keeping the future of students in mind, we assured them on behalf of the government of India that the cases registered against the protesting students would be withdrawn and that no strict action would be taken against them," Union minister JP Nadda told media persons here.

"In this regard, we also discussed the matter with the governments in BJP-ruled states, and we are going to fulfil that assurance. We welcome the decision announced by the CJP spokesperson at a press conference to withdraw the proposed protest scheduled for September 5. The progress and development of the youth remain the government's priority."
