Govt to withdraw affidavit on Ram

The Central government decided to withdraw the offending remarks on Lord Ram's existence in its affidavit before the Supreme Court on the Sethu Samudram Shipping Canal Project.

NEW DELHI: The Central government on Thursday decided to withdraw the offending remarks on Lord Ram's existence in its affidavit before the Supreme Court on the Sethu Samudram Shipping Canal Project.

Instead, the government will file a supplementary affidavit in the case on Friday, Law Minister H R Bharadwaj said on Thursday.

ASI had earlier submitted an affidavit to SC questioning Lord Ram's existence.
