New Delhi: Government will make a statement in Parliament tomorrow on the ongoing agitation by Jats which has paralysed train movement in several parts of the country.

The Jat community is demanding OBC reservation in Central jobs.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ashwani Kumar gave this assurance in the Rajya Sabha after BJP members sought to know how the government was tackling the Jat stir.

Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Ramdas Agarwal (BJP) said the Jat community has been agitating since February 8 and the movement is spreading.

Apprehending that the movement may take a violent turn, the Railways have suspended over 800 trains, he said adding that the genuine demands of the community must be considered.

Several BJP members were on their feet charging the government with not doing enough to control the situation.

Syed Azeez Pasha ( CPI) raised the issue of agitation by passport office employees against outsourcing the work to private companies.

He said after the outsourcing project is completed, 75 per cent of the work relating to passport would be handled by the private company which would get a big commission.

Alleging that the government was adopting a casual approach towards the issue, he said the employees were feeling insecure.
