Govt to hold another all-party meeting on Women's bill
Govt will hold another all-party meeting this week.
"Our government is determined to reserve one third of all seats for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. The bill will be tabled in the current session of parliament," Narayansami, the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, told.
He said the last all-party meeting was held on April 5, chaired by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, but some parties expressed different opinions on the bill.
The Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Lok Janashakti Party, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and a section of the Janata Dal-United opposed the bill which was passed in the Rajya Sabha on March nine.
The budget session would resume on April 15.
