NEW DELHI: Government is planning to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of B R Ambedkar with a nationwide programme beginning April 14.

An executive committee, set up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the chairmanship of Home Minister Rajnath Singh, today reviewed the various aspects of the preparation for the year-long celebrations.

The meeting discussed how to go about the celebrations and the steps to be taken by the government in this regard, official sources said.

Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan and Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawar Chand Gehlot and Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment Vijay Sampla and senior officials were present in the meeting.
