Govt not giving funds to Cong controlled municipalities: Adhir
BAHARAMPORE: Senior Congress leader and minister of state for Railways Adhir Chowdhury today alleged that Congress controlled municipalities in West Bengal are not getting adequate funds from the state government.

"Most of the Congress controlled municipalities are not getting funds from the state government," Chowdhury told reporters here.

He also expressed apprehension that the state government would not allow the Congress controlled Murshidabad Zilla Parishad to function properly.

The previous Left Front government also did not give proper funds to the Congress controlled municipalities in the state and the present Trinamool Congress is doing the same thing, he alleged.

On whether there would be any alliance between the Congress and the Trinamool Congress for the 2014 parliamentary polls, Chowdhury said the decision about any tie-up would be taken by the party high command.
