Govt not disclosing names of people having black money: Advani

Accusing the UPA government of not taking a stand on the issue of black money lying in foreign banks, senior BJP leader L K Advani said he was hopeful that the Supreme Court would take the matter to its logical end.

MUMBAI: Accusing the UPA government of not taking a stand on the issue of black money lying in foreign banks, senior BJP leader L K Advani said he was hopeful that the Supreme Court would take the matter to its logical end.

He also said BJP would continue pressing its demand for a JPC probe into 2G spectrum scam.

The Centre has so far avoided disclosing the names of the people who have stashed away unaccounted money in foreign banks, Advani told reporters on the sidelines of a function organised by Jai Hind College in South Mumbai.

The senior BJP leader was referring to a petition filed by veteran lawyer Ram Jethmalani in the Supreme Court on the same issue.

About the opposition's demand for a JPC to probe 2G Scam, Advani said, "We shall continue with our demand till the JPC is formed."

He said "no comments" when asked about confession made by Swami Aseemanand, a key suspect in the Ajmer dargah blast case, to a court about the alleged involvement of right wing leaders in Malegaon and other bomb blasts in the country.
