Govt ignored my Covid warnings & disaster followed. Now they're ignoring my warnings on China: Rahul Gandhi

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi today slammed the Modi government for ignoring his warnings on China.

The Gandhi scion likened the govt's response to his warnings on China to that of govt's earlier response to his coronavirus forewarnings.

"I kept warning them on Covid19 and the economy. They rubbished it. Disaster followed," Rahul Gandhi tweeted.


"I keep warning them on China. They’re rubbishing it," he further added.

Rahul has earlier accused the govt of hiding facts about Chinese incursion into Indian territory.

"China has taken our land and GOI is behaving like Chamberlain. This will further embolden China. India is going to pay a huge price because of GOI’s cowardly actions," he had tweeted on July 18.

Meanwhile, India saw a record single-day spike of 49,310 COVID-19 cases taking the country's tally to 12,87,945 on Friday, while the recoveries surged to 8,17,208, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

The death toll mounted to 30,601 with 740 new fatalities reported in a span of 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am showed.
