Govt forces Yeddy to advance trust vote

Bowing to pressures from governor Rameshwar Thakur to prove his majority in the Karnataka assembly by November 20, the BJP-JD(S) coalition regime has advanced the date for trust vote to November 19, four days ahead of the scheduled date.

Yeddyurappa had fixed November 23 as the date for proving his government’s majority in the house. However, the governor has directed BJP to obtain the confidence vote in the assembly within eight days.
