HYDERABAD: Telangana government is examining the issue of creating new districts in the state, Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said in the Legislative Assembly today.

Replying to a query on the issue, he said a committee is looking into the re-organisation of existing 10 districts in the state.

The government would take a decision after receiving the committee's report and holding consultations with all concerned, he said.

Speaking on the issue, TRS members M Yadagiri Reddy and N Divakar Rao and others said there is a need to create new districts as the existing districts are too big.

Formation of new districts is needed for administration to become easy, they said.

The present 10 districts are Adilabad, Nizamabad, Medak, Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Karimnagar, Warangal, Nalgonda and Khammam.
