Govt directed to consider doctors plea within a month

Kerala High Court on Tuesday directed the state government to consider the plea of government doctors for special allowance within a month.

KOCHI: Kerala High Court on Tuesday directed the state government to consider the plea of government doctors for special allowance within a month.

The direction was issued by a division bench comprising Chief Justice H L Dathu and Justice K M Joseph on a petition filed by Kerala Government Medical Officers Association seeking higher pay for government doctors.

The bench also directed the committee headed by Health Secretary, Vishwas Mehta, to look into the grievances of government doctors regarding revision of pay and submit its response to government within a month.

The case will be considered on March 13.
