Govt constitutes committee to investigate causes, lapses in NTPC accident
New Delhi: The government has constituted a committee to investigate causes and lapses in the accident at NTPC's Unchahar project in Uttar Pradesh that killed over 30 people.

The committee will be headed by member thermal at the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) and will have representation from Uttar Pradesh power distribution utility, Director of Steam Boilers, Maharashtra.

Constituted under Sec 161(2) of Electricity Act the committee will investigate into the causes of the accident and fix responsibility, if any, and suggest remedial measures to avoid recurrence of such incidents. The committee will submit its report in one month.
