SHILLONG: Governor S S Sidhu dissolved the 60-member Meghalaya Assembly following a recommendation from outgoing Chief Minister D D Lapang, an official statement said on Saturday.

The Governor dissolved the house after Lapang's recommendation last evening.

The Governor also accepted the resignation of Lapang and his council of ministers but asked him to continue in office.
