Governor dissolves Meghalaya House
Governor S S Sidhu dissolved the 60-member Meghalaya Assembly following a recommendation from outgoing Chief Minister D D Lapang.
The Governor dissolved the house after Lapang's recommendation last evening.
The Governor also accepted the resignation of Lapang and his council of ministers but asked him to continue in office.
The elections have thrown up a hung house with the Congress emerging as the single largest party with 25 seats in the 60-member house. It has added three seats to its previous tally of 22.
