RANCHI: Jharkhand Governor Syed Ahmed today asked the mediapersons to be accurate in quoting people as he had sometimes found statements quoted to him which he never said.

Addressing a press conference here, Ahmed said sometimes after reading a newspaper he started laughing as "I came to know I had said that only after reading the newspaper."

Besides asking for accuracy, the governor also advised the media not to dilute the difference between opinion and news.

Jharkhand is under President's rule with its assembly under suspended animation from January 18.
