NEW DELHI: The government's crowdsourcing platform MyGov.in launched its version 2.0, with newer features such as hashtags, polls, interactive discussion forums and social media account integration.

The new, sleeker version of MyGov.in has been in the works for the past few months, and will make extensive use of analytics and data mining tools.

MyGov.in chief executive Gaurav Dwivedi told ET in December that version 2.0 of the portal would have opinion polls related to policy issues, detailed surveys to supplement field data collection, and collaborative writing for white papers across different ministries and government departments.

The new version of MyGov is sleeker, has easier navigation and shows real time data about registered users, task submissions and number of comments across different discussion themes on the landing page.

MyGov 2.0 has been built on open source technology by the National Informatics Centre, and has been an important interface for the government to interact directly with citizens. The portal regularly hosts competitions and discussions on a host of pressing issues in the country, in addition to inviting suggestions for its upcoming activities.

The government's "Jan Dhan Yojana" or Financial Inclusion programme was also named through a contest on the MyGov portal.
