BENGALURU: The state government will step up technology deployment to usher in an era of electronic governance in Karnataka, revenue minister RV Deshpande said on Wednesday.

The tech initiatives were aimed at simplifying procedures, and providing services in an efficient and cost-effective way, he said at the annual event of the Global Forum on Strategic Change, Leadership and Learning.

Technology helps in achieving greater transparency which in turn increases the credibility of the regulatory structure, the minister said.

“We have been a pioneer in the use of ICT in making government services available to all citizens having implemented a number of e-governance projects like computerisation of land records (Bhoomi) and treasury operations (Khajane).”
