Government to unleash an IT revolution across Andhra Pradesh: Palle Raghunath Reddy
NEW DELHI: The N Chandrababu Naidu government will unleash an IT revolution across Andhra Pradesh, state Information Technology Minister Palle Raghunath Reddy today said.

Noting that the revenue from IT in residual Andhra Pradesh was only around Rs 1,500 crore after bifurcation, Reddy said the state government has chosen the cities such as Kakinada, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Tirupati and Ananthapur to be developed as new IT growth engines.

"We will develop IT sector in all the regions of Andhra Pradesh," he told reporters here.

IT revenue from undivided Andhra Pradesh was about Rs 65,000 crore, the Minister said.

The new government's decision came after Hyderabad, India's second-largest information technology (IT) hub, became part of Telangana state after bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Hyderabad will continue as joint capital of both the states for 10 years and after that it will fully become part and parcel of Telangana state.
