Government to launch portal on Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on November 11

A national portal to commemorate 125th birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India's first Education Minister, will be launched on Monday, government release said.

NEW DELHI: A national portal to commemorate 125th birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, country's first Education Minister, will be launched on Monday, a government release said.

The portal is a collaborative effort by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, the office of adviser to the Prime Minister, the National Commission for Minorities and the Cultural Ministry, it said.

The portal scheduled to be launched by Minority Affairs minister K Rahman Khan, would be a one-stop point to collate all knowledge available on Azad and made easily accessible to people to know, learn and grow from the leader's inspirations, it added.

Incidentally, a similar portal on Mahatma Gandhi was launched by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in September, while another on Jawaharlal Nehru is currently in the offing.
