Government should reject Patel community's quota demand: Sharad Yadav
NEW DELHI: Janata Dal (United) president Sharad Yadav has lashed out the Patidar agitation for reservation and demanded that the Modi government come upfront and reject the demand.

“The ruling party has not yet come forward to say that the demand of Patels for reservation is unreasonable, as no political party can afford to initiate debate on the relevance of reservation policy, leave aside revising the policy… The (Union) government… should straight away reject the demand instead of creating an acrimonious situation in the country,” Sharad Yadav said on Thursday. The JD(U) chief dismissed as “unjustifiable” the Patels demand and called the leader of the agitation, Hardik Patel, “an immature man.”

Yadav tried to put the blame of the Patel agitation on the “Modi government’s failed promise to create jobs.” “Just a year after the Modi government assumed office, the Patels launched a rally in the home state of PM demanding quota. This is the result of false promises,” Yadav said.
