Government should bring back over Rs 40,000 crore black money in foreign banks: Baba Ramdev

Baba Ramdev said the government should take steps to bring back black money lying in foreign banks and use the money for development activities.

BELGAUM: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev today said the government should take steps to bring back over Rs 40,000 crore black money lying in foreign banks and use the money for development activities.

"Parliament should make provision for it and a bill should be passed in the house to get over Rs 40,000 crore lying in foreign banks back to India. This money should be used for development activities," he told reporters here, en route to Puttaparthi.

Baba Ramdev, founder of Patanjali Yog and Bharat Swabhiman Trust, said he would write to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and leaders of political parties about an anti-corruption action module.

He also said that an anti-corruption rally would be held in Delhi on July 4.

Incidentally, the concept of Bharat Swabhiman trust was mooted in Belgaum during his previous visit here in 2009.

Baba Ramdev later left for Puttaparthi to pay his last respects to Satya Sai Baba.
