Government patronising black money hoarders: Badal

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today slammed the UPA government for not disclosing the names of people hording black money.

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today slammed the UPA government for not disclosing the names of people hording black money in foreign banks and accused the government of "patronising" offenders.

He claimed that Rs 6,500 lakh crore were stashed away in foreign banks but the Union government was not making concentrated efforts to get it back.

"It clearly reflects that the government was patronising those who have hidden their money in banks abroad," Badal told reporters.

Badal urged political parties to engage in "clean and constructive politics" and not to resort to unparliamentary publicity gimmicks in wake of the upcoming Assembly polls.
