NEW DELHI: Government is in the process of finalizing the assisted reproduction technology bill which also addresses the issue of surrogacy. The health ministry is holding interministerial discussions on the matter. The bill is likely to be introduced in the Budget Session of the Parliament.

"We are inviting suggestions from concerned parties and various government departments," said Soumya Swaminathan, secretary department of health research. Swaminathan was speaking on the sidelines of a symposium organised by Switzerland Embassy.

Government is also planning to launch TB diagnostics kit being developed by Bangalore based Bigtech Lab. The chip based diagnostic technology is in the final stages of testing.
