Centre recognises legal rights of the Nagas, historical transformation soon: NSCN- IM

IMPHAL:The Isak Muivah faction of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland faction ( NSCN-IM) has claimed that the Centre has recognised the legal rights of Nagas and proclaimed “integration of their legitimate rights.” The outfit said there would be a historical transformation for the Nagas soon.

NSCN-IM claimed that there were some individuals trying to sabotage peace talk between the NSCN-IM and the Centre by projecting “Nagas of Nagaland.”

In a news release on Friday the outfit said, “the Government of India has recognised the legal rights of the Nagas and candidly proclaimed integration the legitimate right of the Nagas.” Whether we like it or not there is going to be a transformation in the history of the Nagas very soon.” The framework agreement inked between the Centre and NSCNIM is a poll issue in Manipur. NSCNIM said that the Framework Agreement has become a milestone for Nagas, though some ‘greedy people’ were trying to rebut the Framework Agreement without any decency.

“Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, ever since becoming the Prime Minister of India has been deeply concerned in resolving the protracted Naga political issue. He also pronounced this Framework Agreement as a shining example of what India can achieved and not only mark this historic agreement merely the end of the problem but the beginning of a new era and said the Centre will not only try to heal the wounds and resolved the problem but also be a part of Naga pride and prestige and declared the Nagalim as the guardian of the eastern frontier and the gateway to the world.”

“The Centre will also join the Nagas in shaping the future and dignity of Nagas as we dawn a new glorious chapter with sense of self confident and self-respect,” the news release said.

“At this crucial stage, when the entire Naga populace are sincerely yearning for the final settlement, there are some individuals trying to sabotage the peace talk between the NSCN and GoI by projecting a new means as ‘Nagas of Nagaland’ and spreading venom to mislead the people by their menacing atrocious strategy,” the organisation alleged.
