Government can't subvert decision making process without discussion: Chidambaram
Senior Congress leader and Member of Parliament (MP) P Chidambaram said that no government should 'subvert the process of decision making without proper discussion', referring to the demonetisation move and expressed hopes of a discussion on the topic in the forthcoming Parliament session.

"We should be vigilant and should not let any government subvert the process of decision making as well as the content of decision making without full debate and discussion," Chidambaram said at an event in Hyderabad.

The former finance minister said demonetisation would slow down gross domestic product (GDP) growth to 6-6.5% for the coming two fiscals. "The confidence of investors have eroded, small and medium businesses (SMEs) have shut their shops which will directly affect GDP rate, pulling it down to 6-6.5% for 2017-18 and 2018-19," he said.
