Golden crowns weighing 1.3 kg missing from world's-richest Tirupati temple

Three golden crowns of Lord Malayappa, Goddesses Sridevi and Bhudevi weighing nearly 1.3 kg are reportedly missing from the ancient Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple at Tirupati. The crowns are missing since Saturday.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has registered a missing report regarding the same. Police have registered a case and examining the camera footage of the Temple to track the culprits.

According to the temple jewellery register, the crown of Lord Malayappa weighs 528 grams, while those of Goddesses Sridevi and Bhudevi weigh 408 grams and 415 grams, respectively.


Sri Govindarajaswamy Temple is an ancient Hindu-Vaishnavite temple situated at the heart of temple town Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh.
